Dear Aishu

Very nicely written. All of us go through the same emotions when we leave from the protective confines of our homes and enter in to the in laws house.

Even after 8 yrs of marriage and 2 children later i still feel the same pangs every time i leave my mom's house after my visits. It is not because of not settling down well in my new home or not adjusting with in laws etc but i guess there is still a small child lurking in me and also in each and every one of us especially when we are under our mother's protective care. Where ever i am , how ever happy or contended i am with my present position as a wife and mother a small part always longs to be back under mom's protective care..to be a child again...

With warm regards
Jay.

Nice write up aishu......explaning the practical happening in a girls life

Mine was a love marriage and as i made my mind intact not to cry , as that would make my mom feel depressed , as she had managed all the odds to make my marriage succesful without any help except for my younger sister. ( i had lost my dad a year above then) i was actually like a emotional hold for them and pretty well they would least wish to see me off but alas, its our second label - womenhood where we need to respect the institution of marraige and bid good bye .

my mom passed away by 2006 and i still regret for not making most of my time with her as i was not allowed to meet her often.........after my wedding .

Now i have no home to look back too........aishu your write up had rewinded my video album......Thanks for that.

Cheers
Ramya

Hi Aishu,

With your write-up you have brought back the fond memories of our Bidaai.

Its such a mixed feeling on one hand you are leaving behind the family who have nurtured you and on the other you are on treshhold of a new life awaiting to welcome you.

For me even after 14 yrs of marriage i and my mom are inconsolable every time i visit them....maybe coz they are alone and aged now...as we are 3 sisters.

What Kamalji has mentioned hold true for many of us here...but for me my husband is a great support and he always says stay focused on what you are doing...so if i am out of the house for whatever reason...i am supposed to forget home and be focused on my activity.

Roopa.
