Default Act of kindness

Hi Ilites
Today I am sharing something which makes my head bow thousand times to an unknown soul, an angelwho helped me in distress.
An angel who doesn't qualify to be called a blessed soul, an elite soul, a polished soul, an educated soul or for that matter a soul worth mentioning in the terminology of the educated lot.
The educated lot who pride themselves to be ahead of this illiterate soul, but, in a mad rush to build career, home, bank balance bury humanity somewhere.
The incident goes like this

My daughter, then 8th months old was undergoing check-ups at PGI. She was to undergo Doppler Echo Cardiography(known as Echo after which she was to be referred to AIIMS). Since, I had to take care of her on my own, I requested my mom to reach the hospital from her place of residence and I would meet her at the hospital itself. I would take me two hours to reach PGI and my mom would take four hours to reach at the same place.
We fixed up the time, the appointment for cath was already there.

When cath was to start Dr. asked me to buy a medicine which was out of stock. I was new to CHD and didn't know the sectors from where to get medicine. I asked a rickshaw wala to take me to the sector from where I would get the medicine.and asked him for the fare charges, he said Rs. 7/-. He took me to the market, there I came to know that I would get the medicine from the stockists only, I asked the rickshaw wala, if he knew that particular sector. He nodded and took me there. It was quite far-away.

I got the medicine and when I returned. I offered him 15/- Rs. He didn't accept and told me that he might be poor but he is not greedy. He said he knows who so ever visits this hospital is ceratinly going througha bad phase, if he can't share the grief of people, atleast he can help them in getting medicines
without hassels

I just could say "dhanyvad Bhaiya". Since that day, I have been always thanking that soul and wish that he always gets two square meals atleast. At the same time I ponder, "Does education really teach us to be more humane, does it teach us to be compassionate, does it teach us to be concerned for other persons?"

The answer is not always "yes it does", I have seen many educated people totally self-centered.

I hope you all also would have been helped by some unknown people. Please, share your experiences about the act of kindness you witnessed and take this opportunity to thank those unknown Angels

Dear Ansh12
You write so nicely here. Throughout my life we have been helped by starngers innumerable times. Sometimes when I help people they are ungrateful and would not even thank me back. If Iwere to mention this ti dh he would always say someone else will help us out. No good deed goes unrewarded. Let me just tell what happened a few days back.
I was driving in the morning and reached a gas station and stopped. immediately a man came running towards my car so i opened my window and he said now only switch off the engine. Because there was smoke billowing up from my front engine cover. I totally panicked. Did not know what to do. Immediately a woman came from inside and said she will help and another man joined her and together they helped fix problem temporarily. Then I took to mechanic and he dropped me home. still it was so scary. And I was so grateful for those strangers helping out like that. Forgot to even thank them in my panic.
Keep writing..

Dear AC

You are one of the gems of Indusladies . I have made my dayby getting compliments from you. I hope someday, I shall receive replies from other gems namely Kmalji, Cheeniya, Chitvish, Varalotti, Malathy, Jey, Shanvy and lsit goes on.

Your reply encouraged and motivated me to write many such incidents.

Yes, you are right, good deed never goes unrewarded. I read an artcile in RD about 10 years back, a person helps another person in distress. When this person who has been helped asks how should he thank the other person. The angle replies, just stop by and help another person, when he is in same situation.

I am happy to know that you are safe and major incident got averted.

Thanks for paying a visit to the thread

Hi Ansh12

Nice post. It is good to read about these people who help us out in our times of need without expecting anything in return for their kindness. So many times so many unknown people have helped me out in some way or the other and i am always grateful to them for helping out.

Cheers
Jay.

Dear Ansh,

That is really nice... Yes, in this selfish world, there are some real good people who help others without any expectations... This is one topic which I always argue with my wife.... I used to tell her.... If you help somebody today... definitely when you are in need... somebody will come and help you.... Lot of people have helped us ... and we also do our part...
