| Yes..That's how determined I became. No turning back, my dear, I told myself. In no uncertain terms. I will go forward and keep going. Not to be deterred by any suspicious movements on the part of the "aliens".. I will not take a step back. You know its time you did this, I told myself. I could hear many parts of me whine with hesitation. Did I really have to go throught with this. I thought of all the lessons I learnt from Vedanta which said to accept situations as is. This would be one good example to accept a situation as is. Why does one have to change it???? Why not JUST live with it..? I kept circling and circling my mind with all thoughts so as to postpone the inevitable. An innocent remark my father made changed everything. The wheels were set in motion. Now there is no turning back. I had to move forward. I had to go where no sane person dared before. My father commented there was an yucky smell coming from my garage..and lo and behold all my pretensions of stuffed nose came to naught that moment. All my vieled attempts to cover eyes, ears and nose where swayed and swelled by those words. I could not wait any longer. I had to Boldly Go Where No Man has never gone before to Clean my Garage. Oh the mess and the smell and all the "saving for later " dare I say JUNK ..do I really have to clean and maybe have to throw some away and put things in order Do I really have to?? I had to and its done. And the Spiders. should I also mention a few roaches and numerable ants and other small creatures. I was strongly reminded of my friend Sri's advice in treating crawling creatures as I brought a mop and broom down many a crawling one..I did say a moment of prayer though which for some reason gave me some peace of mind rather than it would have for the innocent creature..But Whats Got to Be done Has to Get done. I'm sure the smell ghosts are still haunting my garage but atleast its not a sore sight for eyes ..so now I can boldly go where no man has gone before or should it have read no woman has gone before?? |

| Your funny way of writing really cracks me up AC! You have an excellent sense of humor. No, no I am not talking about your garage clean up "action" but the way you have written it! I should get inspired from you and take the plunge too. Or better still, do you think it would help if I showed your post to hubby dear and told him, "Look even we women can do it, so why can't you?" Do you think he will take the bait? I think, not! I was about to sign off but could not resist sending a quick reply to your hilarious post! SS |

| My dear most Chithu ma'am. Have this to boost up your spirits and energy ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And now let me roll on for a while !!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It was an excellent write up and you took me somewhere with your "brilliant" title. Always I do spend time in analyzing what the title may lead me to even before I go deep into the thoughts put forth. I sit back and scratch my brain about the title and put myself in other's shoes and will come up with a situation closely related to the title given. (Just to see where I stand in the thoughtful arena here in IL). And now !!!!! My goodness. My thoughts scared me !!!!!!! Really great that you stepped into the garage which generally "was" (is ??) a "No man's choice" and left your mark !! At times we do procrastinate , but when we ultimately end up completing the same (realizing that it warrants attention), procrastinations imparts value !! Great write up. Good hilarious one !! ![]() Love RamyaVaradharajan
