| Very fishy…!!! Rains again. We had rains for a couple of days and today is slightly bright. As children we were excited whenever there were rains with ice small and big ice particles that sometimes surprised us with a pat a cake spin a yarn on the roof tops. We tried collecting the little ice particles and threw it at each other playing in the rain getting wet and enjoying it. The ice melted as soon as we held it tight in our hands to pray we get more ice to play. We swallowed one or two ice cubes and had fun spitting it out in the puddle. Talking about hailstorm (guess that’s what its called?) we often use a term it was raining cats dogs and snails. Wonder if this is true. Whoever heard of dogs and cats in rain. Maybe it was the local gang that got wet in the rains eh? ..no idea. This news item in today’s dinamalar is news. It says .. in a small village near guruvayur in kerala it rained fish. Did the great lord think it was time he gave what the keralites loved best ….? But surprise is ....it was two inch long and alive…!! People gathered around the streets to collect all they could for a fishy…fry? Or a takehome to the fish tank .. we never will know. The fish was not the usual ones found nearabouts and must have been taken up from another place to be delivered all fresh to kerala…no wonder gods own country and god is doing his best? Very fishy. sathya |

| This is really fishy, indeed! I studied an article from a book about these kinds of strange things falling from the sky. It is called the 'waterspouts'. They are tornadoes that develop over water. they are long, thin and dangerous. The funnels literally suck water out of hte ocean (* or lakes or rivers) and spray it through the top like a whale or a fountain. They are less powerful than tornadoes. Interesting fact is ' it rained tadpoles in New York, lizards in Canada and fish fell on Rhode Island in the USA. Sriniketan |
