A few days back my husband had to travel out of town for a day. When he came back he was raving about a restaurant that he went to with his friend. He just could not stop mentioning each and every dish he had there. Since I had never heard of this restaurant he wanted to explain to me all the dishes. ANd to prove to me how good one of the dishes were, he had bought me a dish. It was a cake made of corn flour and had a savory taste to it. And did it ever melt in the mouth. hmmm.. really yummy and very very tasty. He had also bought the butter that was to go with it and needless to say the whole cake disappeared in a very very very short time. Now ofcourse I am very grateful that he brought me the dish. But my problem is that it derailed me completely from my DIET plan. With great difficulty I have been trying to stay on the diet bandwagon but then comes along this cake. Even with all best of intentions it is so easy to get away from the DIET plan. Well he is not the only one in this universal sabotage plan. Just the other day a close friend insisted to come for dinner and refused to accept a no. And ofcourse the food was incredible. How am i supposed to maintain my DIET if all these people cook all these delicious foods and also expect me to partake of it. I am absolutely convinced there is a universal plan to sabotage my DIET. Also some of the gifts that come in to are always in the form of choclates or other sweets. I am sure there is a conspiracy to get me off the DIET. Not that it is difficult to get me off the DIET. All I need is to see some tempting food and there I slip down a few feet. Oh well the cake started the recent downslide. What can a poor girl do?!?!?!?

Dear Ac, No, no no, do not justify yourself. For every action on our part, the Universe will "seemingly" sabotage! But it is upto you to resist successfully, without being tempted ! There lies our so called "Will power" ! I am sure, you are not going to like this post of mine??!! Well,.......... Love, Chithra.

Hi AC, I totally agree with you. When you plan to do something, the opposite occurs. For an eg. I usually like to transfer sugar from the big container to a small one, without spilling, but you know what happens, I atleast spill a few spoons. Luckily, i always use paper to hold the spilled ones ( confidence in me ??) I have given you this as an eg only. There are many things happens like I don't want to get angry atleast for a day, but that day will be worst. So what to say, everything is pre-planned, we are toys in the hands of the destiny. But some people say that it happens like that because it wants to 'test' you. So don't give it a chance, Go Girl! sriniketan

Dear Bhargavi Feel so much better after reading yur reply. Sometimes i think its a losing battle and WHY ME??.. really liked the sugar incident..For once I wish the "test" would be absent?!

| Dear Ladies, I agree with what is said. Hubby says i eat a lot of chilly which is no good. So as my new year resolution I decided to cut down my chilli intake. 1st of Jan went well & so did the 2nd.....The 3rd of Jan got it's own problems: My friends in office cooked some Mexican veggie food for me & guess what was the main ingredient? Yep chilli. The local restaurant I go to was no better. That weekend the special on the menu had Chilli pakodas which the host even gave it to us with his complements. I did my best to resist. Now what am I to do if nature insists I eat chillies?I humbly accepted the inevitable. I am back on the chilly bandwagon & refuse to leave it. Cheers Corallux
