| Hi friends, As we all know, the world is formed by the sound 'OM'. They say that all our vedas are given by rishis from generation to generation, by word of mouth and also that they absorb the sound of the universe and get the words from it. ok ok, this is not of any religious or philosophical type thread. I am coming to the point. in our daily life, we are surrounded by various sounds, some familiar, some funny, some new , some scary, etc. Have you ever noticed that we are using some common sounds, passed on from generation to generation (?) everyday. For eg. gada gada-----to do something fast viru virunu------to walk faster noi noinnu-----for the people who pester continuously dishoom dishoom-----for the fight etc. I have also noticed that they come only in pairs, why. Because i think to stress something, you had to repeat it twice or thrice. ![]() moreover, whenever the message is accompanied by the sound, i think the 'effect' is more than said 'plainly'. this is what i call the 'sound effects'. ![]() I am the one who uses these 'sounds' and some more in our house. Don't imagine me as a 'sound-party', but in reality, i am a calm person. ![]() I am going to end this with a joke, i read some years before. 'How will the post man fall? 'dhapaal' nu is the answer. (thapaal is the sound but also means 'post' in tamil) How is it? sriniketan Last edited by Sriniketan; 18th November 2007 at 09:00 PM. |
