Sunkan,
thanks, you did what I had in my mind, by starting this thread. I made besan ladu, chocolate burfi and moong dal chakli , pressure cooker halwa so far. Also planning to make mixer and okkarai today.
My mother makes mixer and wheat halwa everytime for Deepavali. My mil never used to make anything, will say that she is diabetic so nobody is there to eat the sweets. All work related things 'nammathula vazhakkamillai'.
I have posted the photo of the sweets made in Ask Chitvish comments section.
dear varloo,
i had the same statement from my mil with nammathiley vazhakkamilley for every thing but her unni appam and therattupaal which is a must for all diwali was grt, i learnt it from her friend, who had no issues teaching me, so when my only sis in law told me how wonderful u r making just like my mom, i could only tell her that ur mom's friend taught me all these...me also joining in making okkarai today, i make it the quick way, boil chana dhall untill killu padam then let it cool and dry it on a towel, once the water is absorbed now run in the mixie and it will come out a dry powder along with elaichi, now do it in the usual way of keeping the vellapagu and u will see it will finish in a jiffy, not taking long to dry up ..sunkan

Here is my list,

I just made Oomapodi yesterday.
Got Aashirwadh's cook and eat Badam Halwa; have to heat it and serve.

Planning to make Mullu Murukku, Mysore Pak and Besan Laddu or Pottu Kadalai Maavu Laddu. Yet to decide upon that.

With my 2 year running around my legs, I am just managing to do it.

Dear Madam, I have made murukkus already. I am making rava laddu and seven cup sweet today, last week i prepared badam halwa for my daughter's birthday. Then there is a tamil cook here who made some sweets for us - mysorepak, badhushah, boondi laddu, puran poli, mixture, munthiri cake. Have a great Deepawali.

You are most welcome Shanthi. Actually I got that idea from Krishnaamma's Recipes
and tried it out and it has really come out good.
