Young and Gay

When we are young, we are Gay.Gay i mean happy and full of beans.Of course we dare not tell the other person, that u look Gay today,u may have to rephrase it as , you are looking Happy today, what is the matter.



My mom,as I am sure many other ladies of 50's and above, get into the social habit of matchmaking.If they know a Girl of marriagable age, and if someone recommends a boy a few years older, and earning well,she will put two and two together,and start the process of matchmaking.My mom has been responsible for dozens of marriages, and touch wood all are going fine.


A few years back,we brothers and bhabhis were sitting around and discussing a broken marriage,and mom had to pop in, and ask why did the marriage break.Bhabhi told her, the boy was Gay,hence the wife decided to call it off.She did not understand the meaning, and it took her an hour to understand what it means.And boy, I have never seen her so shocked !


So whenever a proposal comes up, she likes everything about the boy and the girl, and the first thing she will tell the middle person, is how do we find out whether the boy is Gay ? And it takes another hour to explain to the other lady what Gay means.And all the while everyone is in splits,and the poor lady does not know why everyone is laughing so loudly !


Things are getting murkier by the day where marriages are concerned.Now we have to know if both are clear of Aids, so better a test be performed.Ive read in the papers,some Medical Labs are in league with the Marriage Card Guys, and land up at the Groom and Bride's place, and offer to take blood of the groom or the bride at home and give the confidential report,and scare the hell out of you, telling u to take the Aids test, and get the girl's test too, to be safe.So thats a good income for the Lab guys.


Another factor has come in too, thats diabeties.A marriage of a friend's Son was cancelled at the last minute, bcs the girl was found to have high diabeties of around 300 plus and was on insulin.And now this factor has to be taken care of, along with Aids, and Gay factor.


Complicating matters are the Professional matchmakers.What they describe as tall and healthy chap,turns out to be an obese and 5 feet 4 guy.And every person is described in terms of SRK and Madhuri.Woe be to those who are potbellied like me !In my days, when i used to consider myself handsome, I was a sweet talker (diabetically speaking),used to AID friends,and above all was a jolly and GAY person.Today alas these are not qualities but liabilities.


Im glad my wife chose me then, today I would stand no chance at all.Then I was Young and Gay,today I am old and Grey.Amen

how right you are about the words
i can hardly pen a verse
by saying
ah but the twines
sang a song of nature
happy and gay
now nature green has no problem
with the word...
but do i get a fit to use it
and we were taught in school
to be gay and happy?
do we rush to aid the aids?
words that have more than one meaning
and the meaning that once was
`happy and conveyed joy'
is now a matter of shame...

So true.All meanings have changed today, so have values changed.Our marriages were easy.These days are the days of choice.

Just like to buy a mobile, fridge, TV etc we go crazy looking at different models same is the case with searching for a partner.The looks , earnings etc and after that we have to see each is medically fit also, no aids, no affairs, and the whole things gets so complicated.The expectatuions are too high, so is the dissappointment.

Great post.... Hahahaha... Looking at all the qualifications required...

In todays world, physical appearences takes the first place... Plus people try to hide their fitness issues.... So we have to look into all these things...

It is very rarely, people look at the heart and feelings... Talking openly without hiding things etc... I think it happens only in movies....

Thank GOD, I am married... Fortunately escaped all these things... Thanks to Shan, accepting my proposal...

Kamalji this too is a nice one hahaha It is so true now a days people don't see the heart and feelings of a person but in the horoscope they want to see if he is a gay or not or if he is having AID's and what all.
Both of you and Veda are thanking god that your wife's choosed you what should the ladies say , Thank God we choosed our husband. hahahahahaha............

Small Technical correction.... I said thanks for my wife accepting me... Not choosing me... If given the coice of choosing... I dont know........ hahahahaha... I have seen ladies choosing a saree .... 10 Shops - 100's of sarees... before selecting one... For saree itself that is the case... For life partner.....
