Hello Kamalji
Wish you and your family HAPPY DIWALI.
Will try and find these books. As we mostly get only Books in Arabic here. Heard there are 2 good libraries but one is 2 hrs drive from my place and another one is 3 1/2 hr drive. So finding a bit difficult in getting books. Started reading Sherlock holmes again.

Mills and Boons heard a lot, but i suppose it was for girls, as also Barbara Cartland.

Binding of comics even i used to do, and it used to be fun.Its good u have donated yr books to a library, whereby other children can read yr collections.

Thanks and regards, and wishing u and yr family a very very happy, healthy, and prosperous Diwali.God bless u.Kamal

Aruna,

sherlock Holmes i used to read and love it.The talks between Holmes and Dr.Watson.i remember the famous line " Elementary Watson".We had the Hound of Baskervilles, in our School Book and that is how i feel in love with Sherlock Holmes.

And i was very sad when he was killed, but later brought back due to public demand.Take care.Regards.kamal

Dear Kamalji,
Sherlock Holmes is aired sometimes in pogo channel and sometimes in History channel. Agatha Christie is being aired on Zee Studio for an hour at 11 am on Sundays, IST. I also watched Orient Express on tv, so thrilling.

Vow,Interesting.Everybody is sharing books virtually.Reading acts in various forms.Mood revitalizer, moral booster,a best guide as well as a teacher.I am an addict to sidney sheldon novels.i love books which develop confidence. In that way i like dale carnegies's books.
Please try dale carnegie's "How to win friends and influence people","how to enjoy your life and your job",'The quick and easy way to effective speaking".

kamalji sir,
Please provide some details abt " Freakonomics".Looks quiet interesting.

Bhargavi,

I loved Dale Carnegie, and read him in the 70"s.Great movitvational books.
But do u know he committed suicide ? He motivates us, but couldnt motivate himself.

Freakonomics, is about how do i say, different. This author makes very different comparisons.

For example he says, suppose yr child has two friends. One friend's tather has a gun at home, and the other has a swimming pool.Where would u send ur child to play ?

He says obiously to the friend who has the swimming pool, as that is safe, and not to the guy whose father has a gun, as a gun is dangerous.

He proves with statistics that more than 10 times children die in swimming pools that thos e killed by guns going off.

The book is very intersting if u are interested in those kinds of things.

The world is flat i am reading will let u know in a few days, but even the beginning is too good.the world is changing fast, and so are the rules. Its about business basically .

Thanks and regards.kamal

Kamal,
Thanks for your prompt response. The freakonomics goes different.I am hearing for thje first time that dale carnegie commited suicide.Really his books are worth reading.A known fact that the life of an astrologer will generally not be happy and upto the mark, same thing goes with the author(dale) of various confidence boosting books which makes people live life to the fullest and enjoy the same.
Thank you again for your fb.

Bhargavi,

here it is from the internet.

Though it has been stated that Dale Carnegie died of uremia[7], it is widely rumored that he died at age 66 by committing suicide. The rumor began because another author, Irving Tessler, wrote “How to Lose Friends and Alienate People” as an unauthorized parody of the classic Dale Carnegie book. Mr. Tessler later committed suicide and was confused with Dale Carnegie himself.[citation needed] The official biography from Dale Carnegie & Associates, Inc. states that he died of Hodgkin's disease on November 1, 1955.[8] He was buried in the Belton, Cass County, Missouri cemetery.
