A suggestion Meeta...

Please throw away unused makeup kits that are more than i year old. The oil base in the lipsticks, powder and foundation give out an unwelcome odor after sometime. . You wouldn't want to leave that behind certailnly .

the things that i hold dear and took the utmost care in storing away in my closet are both of our parents letters, their pictures and keep sake clothes, our wedding clothes, my children's mile stones (yes each and every one of them captured in pictures, videos and momentos).

Now have to work on a living will as per who gets what

Dear Balamotwani
Isnt it nice of your MIL to give you your hubbys small toys, baby bed OMG
wish I had one for my son too. Thats really really nice.
I also admire the way your planning treasures for your daughter which will
become her most precious memories
The only thing i do is create scrapbooks so hopefully my son can browse
thru sweet memories. You know regarding the love letters: I wanted to ask u;
Mine was arranged marraige but my husband wrote me many love letters
which I have saved mostly but he did not save any that i wrote him
and somehow I am to blame for that. Did your hubby save yours too??
Just curious.

Dear Sweet Meeta
You and I are same in many ways. I am far from organised but this filing
work has fallen on my head. And for me it never gets done. Some times i put in a lot of effort and time etc. and will be gloating here I am uptodate and pat on my back and vby the time i turn around magically more paperwork would have accumulated then i go thru the drudgery of sorting shredding filing OMG never ends

Dear Chithra
Your post comes as a "thendral"
a cool one in the midst of the
hot humid heat of our South.
Definetly not a shock and children will
relish and relive those pleasant and warm memories
when all were young and had mom to run home to.
The "notes" only goes to show you are
beautiful inside and out. Thanks for sharing.

Not at all Chitra....I mean i am not at all organised when it comes to taking care of my things. The keepsakes are a different matter. Because they are from my dear parents (departed) and my kids I did a good job of preserving / storing them well. You should see the rest of my closet.

The living will part is influenced mostly by Terri schiavo case (the florida lady kept on life support for > 15 years)

Dear Chitra, I wonder what made u start such a thread. My closet has lot of clothes, greeting cards sent by my hubby before marriage and those given my daughter, my mother and letters written by my father, lot of photo albums of our various trips, jewellery, all documents (savings certificates - UTI, SBI Mutual fund, LIC policies, ALICO policies, Reliance Mutual fund, share details), Monthly rental bills, bank statements, electricity bills, telephone bills, bank loan particulars, salary statements of my hubby everything neatly filed in separate files and the names written over them. My certificates, my hubbys and daughter's. My daughter's preschool notebooks and picture books, Swami pattu books and our medical reports, guarantee cards of different gadgets and the list goes on endlessly. All documents and bills everything i file and keep them safely and give them to my hubby whenever he asks for. He doesnot have the habit of keeping the things in order so i take care of everything. i donot keep the clothes organized. i donot throw away the old ones so my closets are full and overflowing. I should sit one day and throw away the old ones or give them away to someone.
