Default Does happiness need a reason?

Sunkan and everyone,

thanks for the warm welcome to me.I too am looking forward to posting here.

Since i cant find where to post, may i post a blog here ?

I hope u all like this blog .thank u.Regards.kamal

Does HappinessNeed AReason ?

( I cannot copyright this blog,as happiness is not my private property )

Recently I gave a party to all my friends and their families at a Club Poolside Venue.12 Couples with families, all close friends were invited by me and wife for Drinks and Dinner. We took our Black Label,Vodka, and other drinks, the Dinner was served by the Club.

When i called them a few days before this,to invite them, they all wanted to know the reason.I told them there is no reason worthwhile to mention, just that they come over, and lets have a good time. But each was persistent. And i had to tell all of them that

A) My married daughter is not pregant

B ) I have not won a lottery

c) I have not got an IT Refund.

Maybe they wanted to bring in a gift or something, appropriate to the occassion. And at the party, they were again persistent with their queries about the reason. And the reasons I gave them did not satisfy them to the least. Here is what i told them.

We have been to Indonesia,to visit our daughter, and she is very happy,That we all are keeping good health, for which we are very grateful to the almighty, barring a toothache and the likes, last year i had bought a new Maruti Baleno, and i have no orders(they thought otherwise that i have received some good export orders ! ),and I am at peace these days, and by God's Grace i dont have to work anymore to feed the kitchen fires. In short I am very comfortable, and The big Boss,The lord has been kind to me and my family, and everyone assoicated with us.

I do not understand the concept of reasons for being happy and contented.Do we have to come across lotteries,or good jobs,or anything related to money to feel happy? Why does there have to be reasons to Celebrate ?Cant we count our blessings and be happy? Of what use is that money, that suppose Someone gets a Crore, and loses a leg soon after,or a loved one.I have enough money to keep me Warm, but not enough to Burn me.

My friends do not understand my reasons for being happy and contented, like a cat after a good milk and fish ?Is money the deciding factor ? If so , all the richest people in the world would be the happiest and vice versa. If in the mid fifties,I dont have BP,Cholestrol,Sugar,Heart, andi can eat what i want,I can spend what i need to without having to work for it at this age,if my daughter is happy with her hubby and all is honky dory, then i personally feel (let others disagree) that i am blessed. And this gives me a reason to celebrate with my friends here in Jaipur. And reasons be damned for all I care.

We males sat together, and the ladies and the kids together. Each group enjoyed themselves. We were drinking silly, and the jokes i heard, well very very raunchy and we were roaring with laughter.Im sure with all that, our clholestrols and BP levels must have come down a great deal.

All in all a super evening, and we enjoyed it,but i am still wondering, if there is ever a reason to give a party or to have a reason to celebrate ?

Lets have your views on this very simple but dicey topic at the same time.and lets see what u come up with.

Dear Kamalji ,
Kamalji and happiness walk by the side of each other bothones hand on each other's shoulders.u have a very positive approach to life.may be tht is making u keep going.sure money is not wht is need for keeping things on track.I surely believe tht we need to feel the inner essence of life and take life as it comes and ofcourse take it in ur stride.spirit of solving life's misteries whwtever may come.happiness all depends of the inner wel being rather than the outlook of modern artificial world.life can be given various meaning upto the thought of the man and brain development but when spsirit needs upliftment then it is only from friends who have an heart for being happy..thts wht u can share after all....

Kamalji, I agree with you. If one is contended and satisfied then each day is a celebration.

We don't have to lookout for reasons to celebrate with our near and dear ones. I too have a lot of impromptu parties - get togethers for our family and friends. The stress is not on food but the valuable time that we spend on bonding with each other then.

After doing so much also you do come across a couple of people saying why you want to do all this. Instead of appreciating our efforts they have things to say otherwise. But my husband & i don't let these things deter us and we do what we feel is fulfilling and satisfying to us.

Today the life is on such a fast track that at times it just becomes impossible to be in touch with each other on a regular basis so such impromptu get-togethers ones in a while are a good means for keeping in touch.

Warm regards
Roopa.

Hi ILites,

I think replying to Kamalji, we have strayed away from the original topic.

Sorry about that.

Roopaji,

thank u for yr kind comments.I know this is not my blog space, but i would appreciate if u could tell me how to blog.I cant seem to find the button that says " Post yr blog"

Yes i agree with all that u say.Why do we need reasons to celebrate. The fact that i am alive today, is the reason i want to celebrate.

A friendof mine called me an d wife for a party at his home, without giving any reason, and i pestered him but he would say anything said just come. And it turned out to be his 25th wedding anniversary.I was so touched with his gestureRoopaji, bcs he did not want any flowers cards or gifts.

Would appreciate if u can tell me how to post a blog.thank u very much .Regards.kamal

Sandhyaji,

That is a very cruel thing for people to say that at least yr husband left u lots of insurance money and that u are more richer after his death.

Can money compensate happiness? If that was so,all the richest men in the world, would be healthy and happy. But is that so ?

I feel,Sandhyaji, it is in us to be sad or happy.Everyone has their own problems, but how we live life is up to us.

I feel we should make everyone feel happy in our presence.

Thanks and regards,God bless u.Kamal
