New to Abu dhabi

Hi Friends,

We are newly relocating to Abu Dhabi. I will be joining my husband by August. Can anyone help me in finding the shop for getting wet grinder, mixie, gas stove and TV.

Also pls tell me if all grocessories are available. We are basically from Chennai.

You will get all home appliances in Carrefour, Al Falah Plaza, Costless Electronics, Jumbo, E-Max, LuLu, Al Wahda & many more shops/malls

You need not carry anything from India.

There are many shops/supermkts for groceries..EGM, Co-ops, Fathima's, Auh Flour Mill, Adil stores ( for indian grocery & food stuff) located in each locality

Moreover there are grocery shops/vegetable sellers, laundry & other basic amenities shop in each area where things are just a phone call away.

there are many schools here in AUH. if you are looking for Indian schools, we have Abu Dhabi Indian School, Leens, little flower, Our own english high school and many more. we have some international schools as well like Choueifat and ABu Dhbai international school. anyway, it all depends on what kinda system that you want to put your kid in, i prefer the international schools like American community school where they give a lot of importance for character and personality development. but they are bit expensive.

I'm also planning to relocate to Abu Dhabi from Singapore in a couple of months...I have a 6 year old daughter.She goes to lot of classes here like Indian dance , Indian classical music, swimming, Roller skating etc..I would like to know if there are classes like these available in Abu Dhabi.Do u get tutors to come home and teach the kids???? Where can i get more info on this?? It would be helpful if u guide me...

There are couple of dance & music institutes here... classes for swimming coaching as well.
I am not too sure abt the home tutor availability.

Thanx a lot....

We r likley to shift in September after all our visa's are thru..I need to get my daughter admitted in a school....Do u think i will be able to get into the school in the mid of the academic year.....My daughter is in Kindergarten 2 now and will not complete her K2 until Nov...But i need to get her admitted to 1st grade if i come there in Sept.....Do u have any idea how i can check for these details...The school websites don't have much details on such procedures...

I guess one more major issue in Abu Dhabi is the housing..How do we go abt looking for houses??? ..and which is the best area to stay in the city ???....I mean, with all amenities nearby....
