Default buying gold in dubai airport

Hello friends! I wanted to ask for your tips, advice, experiences about shopping for gold in the duty free shops at dubai airport. Is it less expensive, same price or more expensive than buying in India? What are the advantages in terms of design, quality etc., Thanks! Latha

Dubai gold is one of the world's pure gold. But buying it in Dubai Duty Free, u cannot bargain and reduce the marking charges, other wise for the quality ....u can trust.......

Thanks Nilofar. My husband has 4 hrs transit in Dubai enroute to Chennai. I had been via Dubai only once (and a very short transit) but still remember all the glittering shops. So wanted to ask him to check out. I hope to make a holiday in Dubai sometime to see other options. In general, which shops (in the city) are reliable? I mean ones owned by Indians or locals? When you say bargaining is it like how we do back home? Latha

I concur with nilofar. you cant make any negotiations on the jewellery but it is guranted. Interestingly you can find many good designs (particularly 14 carats/ 18 carats) which often you cant find in local market within Dubai.

I have many experience and since last 10 years i shopping there and quality is impeccable. Generally i buy 24 carats.
