Does brown Tree or Nuts-N-spices in velachery store Unsweetened Khoa and Fresh Cream?? Or tell me some other supremarket which stocks these please In Ashokk nagar none of the stores sell these including spencer's daily and reliance
Check in Aavin... Sometime back we had a Aavin booth at our door step, we used to get sugarless koha which is used to make bread halwa etc etc.. Not sure now whether Aavin still sells it.
cindhuja, I use the amul fresh cream tetras. I get the same results. khoa, aavin does not supply unsweetened khoa. hatsun used to supply long back. not sure if you get it now. one of my friends said that they get khoa from some icecream parlour in mandaveli. but these days, i am little worried about going for khoa from non-descript sources after reading the news about the use of urea in khoa and milk powder.. sorry if i have scared you.
Hi brinda, Me too checked in Aavin yesterday..He has the sweet alone and not the plain khoa let me check in other depots too:thumbsup
Shanthi mam, You have not scared infact helped me with this info.... Since long time was planning to try a sweet recipe of our chitra mam..so hunting for unsweetened version of khoa..Let me try this dish alone and try minimizing the usage hereafter :hide:
Cindhuja You get both at Nilgris. Only limited stocks will arive, though. I buy Khoa and Cream from Nilgris, Mylapore regularly.Aavin does not stock. You can try at Hatsun, though. For most of chitra ma's recipes, Amul fresh cream works fine too. Shanthi Mam Thanks on that info bit. At parrys, we get good quality khoa from direct dealers at relatively lesser prices. I am now wary of buying them too! Cheers Arch
