Sharad Haksar is very good but he might charge more, G.K.Vale and Konica are the other options!

Try Studio K in Sterling Road. My friend had bad experiences with konica.

I know that the equipments in Studio K is the latest one and they specialise in Portrait photography.Their webpage is just tooo good and tempting

G.K.V in bangalore is good, but not sure about the services in Chennai.

Thanks all for the replies. Could only manage to a local studio and get a snap with my parents as didn't have time at all. Anyways, will keeps these places in mind next time.

Does anyone have an approx idea of what the rates are like for studio pics? Can you ask for just one pic or do they take 3-4 for a group rate? How does it work?
