need details on good tailors in adyar or thiruvanmayur

Hi

I am statying at adyar and can anyone please suggest a good tailor for both blouses and salwars...????

PS: I tried 3 tailors around here
weaves,,,,- somehow....doesnt suit me
ashwin talors - worse...
artline tailors - this is nothing special abt this, but the fit s fine.

as i will be leaving to US in 2 months time,....i need to get my blouses and salwars stitched....please do help me out girls....

also please do let me know a good shop for purchasing salwar materials n sarees.....i have bought few from t.nagar....but am searching for more shops....

i had purchased my salwars frm sowcarpet few years back......n trust me.....i had planned for 2 ....n trust me ....i ended up purchasing 12 suit pieces....all the collections are sooooo damn good. I am nt able to find even one like that in adyar /thiruvanmayur side till now..,,

please do help me....:)

When I was in Adyar I used to give it to a tailor named "Shakoor" and he made my marriage blouses tailored. The shop is bit tough to locate.. yet good try it out..

In LB Road, near to Adyar Bakery you will find a Konica lab.. In that compound on the left corner you will have very narrroooow stairs leading to the tailor shop.. .

He made pretty good sets for us (me and my sister)

Weaves - Shwetha made a couple of dresses for me well and then she ruined the entire next set of clothes

There is a lady Rekha who has a shop in Gokul arcade( you can miss that shop) as you climb the stairs it is the first shop to your left. she stitches well but takes decisions in her hand on how the dress should look !!! you can take a risk ? with her ?

Aartline is good. I stitch all my blouses and salwars for me, my daughter who is in the US, my daughter in law who is in Chennai and for my grandchildren. He takes time to give you back the goods but he is really good.
there is Rashika in Kotturpuram. She has material to suit youngsters like you. She is good but a bit on the expensive side.
There is also B.S.Rao. He is located opposite the Ganesha temple at Adyar.
I find that the blouses by him are really good. He does not have many good patterns for Salwars. If you suggest something he will stitch it.
I think I also know Rekha. (I am not sure if Bhooma means the same person ) She has a shop in Gokul arcade. Her shop is on the left side. I think it is called pretty collection or something. She also has material. She stitched dresses for my granddaughters in the US with the measurements given by me. The dresses fit the girls perfectly.

Try your luck with all /any of these people.

In adyar i know a tailor. Two ladies are running that not sure about the name but the quality is too good. I stitched all my blouses for wedding from them.And for salwars they have a plenty of patterns.It is in 1st cross, 2nd main rd, gandhi nagar, adyar.They have rented a house and stictching so it doesnt seem like a professional tailoring shop still the quality is great.There is school and autostand nearby, if you enquire there u can easily reach them.Try and let me know.

Thanks for the details, ladies! I'm also from thiruvanmiyur and i used to get done my tailoring needs long back in Little Valley (near Jayanthi theater). Initially she was very good. But my mom says of late she's not good may be because of too many clients or whatever. Last year i stitched some salwars and blouses in Bangalore... couple were good and rest were spoilt:( I've already noted down all the addresses given in this thread. I think I have also seen this shop in Gokul Arcade.

probably you are talking about Vastra near St Michaels ... she maybe good at making designer blouses or whatever but she ruined my salwars ...

thats why i am still hunting .,... hunting ... for a good tailor ..
