Default Branded spectacle frames

We have brand names in many common items like pants, shirts, shoes, oil and other personal and utility items. I have to buy a pair of spectacles. My previous experience suggests that there are frames ranging from Rs. 300 to 6000 and more. We are not able to differentiate between the frames costing Rs.1500 and Rs.2500. Are there any brand names by which the spectacle frames are manufactured? How to know that what we pay is worth the price? Have wwe to entirely depend on salesmens marketing jargon? I am told that same frames can be purchased at a cheaper rate in Broadway than at Mylapore. Is it a fact?

Default Re: Branded spectacle frames

Hi,

I too am facing a similar problem. I got my previous frame from a very reputed shop and the frame alone cost me Rs.1500! Nut that wore off pretty quickly given that I had paid so much for it! My dad rarely pays more than 600-700 for his frames but he always gets cool looking ones and they last as long as the expensive ones do - if not longer! Now am really confused as to where I should go to get my spectacle frame!!! Can someone help? Thank you, Lakshmi, for starting this thread.

Regards,
Anitha
