unfair trade practices

Yesterday I bought a popular brand of coffee powder from an equally popular store in Mylapore. To my horror and dismay I found the packing date stamped on it as April 2008. How can one stamp something as April 2008 when April was yet to come? As it was already evening and I could not go anywhere else for a new pack I bought it. If this is the state of affairs I shudder to think what will happen to perishable goods with such stamps. How does one tackle these cases on the spot?

This is outrageous. You can ask the shopkeeper to intimate his supplier / vendor about the

We the consumer have to be so alert!
I was dismayed to find out that you can request your own dates/MRp etc as a buyer!
