which model sewing machine should i buy?

Hi ,

Can any1 suggest me the basic model sewing machine for regular stitching like salwars,blouses .Recently i ve been 2 a exhibition where i saw a sewing maching that includes zigzag,pico,embroidery ,button hole etc apart from the regular dress stitching.I only stitch salwars so the other things r not much of use 2 me.If i buy this model will it b lasting or the regular machine i should buy.Will be hoping 2 receive response from dear friends.

I have used the Singer sewing machine with zigzag, embroidery, etc., and found it quite useful - especially the zigzag for sarees and dupattas. Embroidery - it depends on how much of salwar stitching you plan to do. The more you stitch the more you might feel like experimenting with new stitches!

My aunt has a 'Janome' (I'm not sure if I have spelt it right) sewing machine, again it has the different options of zigzag, pico, etc., and she uses it for regular stitching of salwars and saree blouses.

So maybe the newer sewing machine with different options is a good choice. That is my opinion.

I have a Singer Sewing Machine with basic 20 stiches pattern sufficient for domestic use like stitching saree pallus, minor alterations as well as churidhar stitching.

If you have more interest and knowledge in stitching and embroidery you can opt for the one with many options.

I have the Janome too and I find it great,although I stitch occasionally only.
