Thank you for your list of restaurants! My list keeps growing!! My SIL is in Villivakkam and I will be going there sometime this month. So will sure go to Kongunadu Rasam and let you know about the food there.

If you like dosas and idlis then Palimar is a must visit place...

If you are a chutney, sambar addict drop in at Murugan Idli Shop.


If you drool over asli Gujju khana don't miss Mansukh's @ T.Nagar.

Hi Anitha,

Eden in Besant Nagar is a nice joint where excellent North Indian food is available.

They make melt in the mouth malai koftas and light laccha parathas.(My fav...)

They have a fine array of continental dishes too.

Have never seen such an extensive list of eateries in Chennai, with reviews too. I am a foodie( calling me jus a foodie is not fair. I live to eat) I went thru all the posts here n u know ippo pasikkkuthu enakku.

My favs include mathura mount road, sangeetha saravana bhavans , palimar. i ama veggie. n love veg buffets.

I just saw somebody saying Villivakkam... It reminds me of the childhood days... It is the place where I roamed around for 10 years, some 25 yrs before... Last year during my holidays in Chennai, I just went to see the place.... OMG!!!! what a drastic change... I could not see the house where we lived for more than a decade... the public library....

The famous udipi hotel, those days & the kalpana hotel.... Gone with the wind...

Will there be a summary of good restaurants somewhere....??? where me and my kiddos can go and pamper ourselves...

Cream Centre is at RA Puram. U need to go straight from Park Sheraton towards Andhra Mahila Sabha. I am not sure of the road's name. It is a pure vegetarian restaurant - with a lot of continental and tandoori on the menu.

Cornucopia - is on cenotaph road - continental, but good food.

Another one is Tangerine - Tht s on Murrays Road, Alwarpet. Great tasty sizzlers. Around 250 per head

Aslo Zaras - Ths s actually a bar, so avoid for dinner. Weekdays lunch they have a offer. Starter+Main course+dessert for 125. Good food.
