Where to buy Sarees in chennai

Hi All,

I am visiting chennai to buy sarees for marriage. Please help me in finding a good shop which has good collections of sarees @ the same time with reasonable rates .
Please do also suggest me jewellery shops to buy small items like earings and some silver stuffs too.

Chennai is teeming with silk saree shops. The main area is T.Nagar.
Shops are Kumaran Silks, Nalli (Panagal Park), Sree Kumaran Stores, Pothys, Chennai Silks, RmKV etc. on the Usman Road. These two roads are just near only. Almost all varieties are available in all these shops. Quality also same. But I prefer Kumaran Silks and Nalli-they are old shops and I believe that there are no upping the p rice and then reducing. Crowd will also be less.
Small jewllery- you can try GRT, same area only. They have many collections. Saravana is also there, but I am not sure about the quality.
Wait a little for inputs from others also.

If you would like some really good sarees ... ( I dont know what price range you would expect) I can ask the man from whom we buy the sarees. He can come and show you the sarees or you could visit him. I will PM you his contact number by tomorrow and you can contact him.

Few doubt’s

1. Nalli the one just near pohy’s ot there are some more outlets of it?
2. Kumaran and shree kumaran stores : are both different
3. Any co-operative society near by for silk sarees and do u suggest me to go there and buy some ?
4. Please let me also know about the silver articals near T nagar ,because i am planning to stay near by .

I think Nalli and Sundari Silks (in T nagar)is good for sarees. I have personally visited sundari silks, it is opposite to Muragan iddily shop. Just have a look , i guess u will like it.

You can go to Loom World in Anna Nagar and also the Co-optex on Egmore , there is a huge complex next door to the showroom, where you can get sarees at discount rate. The Loom world inside that complex has good collection.There are other shops too inside, its a co-op kind of place.
Like all have suggested Pothys' Nalli, Nalli 100 , RMKV are best bets.

Kumaran silks & kumaran stores are different.but in kumaran silks u can get Amirtavarshini i.e cotton silk,Grape silk,printed silk.their collections are good.For jewellery u can go to VBJ.
