Hey friends,

I am really very happy to see this much replies for bangles. I started this thread but after since I was busy with my work, so today only I saw all your posting. Really suprised to see this much replies.

I buy bangles in Gnanam stores in Renganadhan street. Really very good shop. And boxes you can get in Kanchi plaza, pondi bazar. That box is made of cloth. they have variety of bangle boxes.

I am working in a software concern. Now also I am wearing match bangles for all the dresses. My colleagues used to ask me often about my bangles.

very happy to hear from you all. keep posting.

Cool Re: Bangles

Hi Gayathri,

I am also very much interested in matching bangles. I have purchased my bangles (just 1 or 2 set) 4 years back since we were in a hurry to go to the airport.

I will be visiting chennai in 2 months. I have no knowledge about the pricing of the bangles. Could you tell me what is the reasonable price for a dozen? Will bargain work? (usually i feel very shy to bargain)

Thanks!

Viji - Thanks for your reply... I am have that woonden bangle stand at my home. But since bangles become dirty if I am hanging them in that stand. Now I have bought bangle box which is in a closed form... inside the bangle box you can find rows to hang them. I feel that will be a better way to store them. You can also try one like that.

Anitha - Happy to knew that you also love to put matching bangles. I usually buy them by taking my dresses along with me. I buy them in renganadhan street. Don't worry how to go into that crowded street. If you come from mambalam station into renganadhan street, you can find this shop easily. The shop name is "Gnanam". Fourth shop... They will arrange bangles for you based on your dress colour. Very good customer service. Go and visit.. Or else tell me when you are going, if I am free I will come for you......

take care
bye
Gayathri

Inimai,

There are different ranges depending on the work which goes into it. You may also try at Pandian Bangle house in Ranganathan street. They also have a decent collection expecially if you are going for stone studded bangles and prices in my opinion were not way too much from Hyd's Chudi Bazaar in my experience.

Cheers!

Charminar in Hyderabad is famous for a variety of bangles. One entire street has bangle stores. However we need to do lot of bargaining there. My bangle size is 2-8 as there is obstruction of bone while I were bangles, smaller sizes don't fit. I rarely get bangles of this size. Whenever we go to Tirupathi, I get one or two bangles there. Here in Charminar there are bigger than the ones I need. When we visited Charminar first time, I found so many bangles, it was hard to leave some and buy some. That was the variety one could get there. I had selected sets of 6 bangles which had some stone works and the vendor priced them at Rs.600 per set. All together I had selected items worth 2400 and when we bargained with them, he gave them at Rs.1200. That’s the variation we have. We also get a variety of bangle boxes. They are of Rs.150 or so. The round, cylindrical shapes that are there in the boxes should be of good quality. This is one aspect one has to look when buying a bangle box. There is also an area called Begum Bazar where we get bangles but not of the stone studded ones, but metallic ones. This is a whole sale market and we need to buy in bulk. Here too we get Bangle boxes. If we buy bangles then they would be willing to sell one bangle box. I purchased bangles for my daughter here.

Hi Anusha,

I 'm thinking to buy metal bangles and few stone studded. Could you give some rough idea?
I see! I thought Hyd's bangles will be cheaper than Ranganathan st. bangles. But you are telling in other way.
According to sushmavarala, they charge that much and they ready to give for 50! less than they told!!

I think I need some persons from local before I go for shopping.

Thanks!
