I dont think the quality of gold is good there but I dont have a personal experience to quote. If u have any specific sentiments about any shop then atleast check for the shop seal and KDM seal when u buy gold. My friend got a ring from VBJ and later found out that it was 50% silver and there was no seal present for them to fite back with VBJ. GRT is cheap and has variety of designs...do check their stores..especially the old GRT store and then decide if u still want to go to saravana.

Gopinath, U can bargain @ GRT..they will reduce the wastage charges and cancel the making charges. They also do a pricematch between Old GRT and New GRT...hope this helps. Do check their rates and carry the estimation slips for reference.
hi i will say try GRT my in laws place all buy from there only they have good reputation. there gold is also good. with saravana s i had a bad experiance . Lalith and Prince are also good u can try 3 of these shops where u like it u can buy. my adivice is no saravana s . WHILE BUYING GOLD THINGS TO SEE 916 HALMARK SHOPS MARK
