need suggestions-to buy plates &following items

hi,
I live in U.S. I'm moving to a new house during mid of dec... So long i lived in a corporate accomodation... Hence used the plates given by them.
Now i'm looking for dinnerware set, bowl, plates, cups and drinking glass.
i've planned to buy 6 of each...
Could u suggest me which is durable, ceramic or porcelian plates. Also suggest me which brand to go at a reasonable price..
Need suggestion - on the following items too..

rice cooker- brand name..
vaccum cleaner- brand name
iron box- brand name - best
dinning table- good ones at a reasonable price..
sofa and tv too..

Ok Lakshmit, I am going to try....:) Thanksgiving is coming up an dit is a good time for you to shop. You know the list of all the things you want, now narrow down based on your budget and find their availabilty and go buy them.

I have corelle corning ware plates/glasses etc. You get them as a box, 6 plates/bowls/glasses etc you could buy that.

I have a bissell bag less VC, I love it. I have a black&decker iron box and I don't use a rice cooker...but most brands anywhere from walmart to macy's are good. It just depends on your budget.

For furniture, look for deals in the furniture stores in your area. As I said earlier, you are at the right time for shopping. Have fun.

As Srama mentioned right time for shopping!! Thanksgiving sales.
rice cooker- we bought from costco.
vaccum cleaner- bissell bagless
iron box- brand name - bought from costco donot remember name
dinning table- look for sales
sofa and tv - wait for thanksgiving sale for TV, sofa and dining table.
Keep looking from now so that you will have idea of rates.
first draw a budget on how much you would like to spend and then start looking.

let me give a try in walmart. I'm looking for hair dryer also.. As i've sinus, after taking bath i've to dry my hair immediately... could u suggest me which brand is good and what would be the price of it..

not sure about hair drier lakshmi i donot use one.

i think black and dekker is good brand for most of items.

:Corelle sets comes in 4s (not 6)... They are really good !!

rice cooker- I have a GE electric rice cooker which I love. Had panasonic previously, but the coating inside (was a light grey color) wore out quickly. This GE one, has a black non-stick coating and has been good so far.

vaccum cleaner- We have a Hoover whisper (from walmart). Works great!!!

iron box - We have a black and decker too..

dinning table and sofa set - check out valuecity stores if they are nearby. They have really good deals. You can also see in IKEA. All stores will have great thanksgiving deals so it is the right time to buy :)

TV - its preference and budget really!! Again, loads of deals now, you can buy at a good price.

Hair dryer - Have a conair infinity -- not too great, but it does the job. My hair becomes frizzy if I dry using the hair dryer, so I mostly let it air dry. Not sure if it is the dryer or just my hair
