stainless steel small pressure pan

hi,
I'm quite surprised about putting gasket in dishwasher. For that hot water wont the gasket rubber burns?
Also i'm surprised about putting gasket in freezer.. won't it break?

The gasket wont burn.Its made of tough rubber. It contracts a little and prolongs the life of gasket.
Lakshmi, The gasket is made of tough rubber hence will withstand dishwasher heat and freezer burns.

Prestige makes a cooker for USA market under the name of Manttra but it comes with the hissing western whistle not the Indian one. You can buy the Indian whistle in India and replace easily which is what I did. I mention this as sometimes you can find these very reasonably in stores. One of the local stores near me was selling out and I got a 6Q with a pressure pan and that rack insert thing as one set and one set of an 8Q w/ steamer basket and an extra glass lid each set was $19 and both were stainless. One thing though to remember about the model to select: if you have a ceramic top stove you need the kind with the thick flat bottom...the one with the rounded circle on bottom is good for gas but unusable on ceramic.
