| | Ultra Pride Wetgrinder
hi, Regarding grinder :I have ultra pride wet grinder which i got from india. My friend also wants to purchase it.She wants to shop online.Could any one tell me which company is good for wetgrinder ?ultra or pvg?Since everyone in my family use only ultra,i have no idea of the other company's grinders. And also i heard there are two versions of grinders, one already converted to 110 vlts from the company and the other one is the dealer will convert and give us which comes for lesser price?which is better? Regarding aata attachment: And one more question is i don't know how to use the aatta attachment.I tried using once but the flour was soggy. For how many minutes should i mix the flour in the grinder? And any specific proportions of water and flour to be used?
Awaiting for ur golden replies,
cheers,
vaishu

Hi Anusha,
You might be aware of these already, but just to make sure you are doing it...hope you are not overloading the grinder. Are you loading both Urad dal & rice together? Sometimes, it is better to try grinding them separately. At the end may be you can pour urad batter and run it for few minutes to mix well with the rice batter.
Also make sure you have enough water while it is grinding. In addition to pouring water in the beggining, you need to keep adding water through out the grinding process.
In spite of all these precautions, if the grinder is giving you trouble, may be the issue is with the motor or the motor belt that is not able to rotate the drum for grinding. It is better to get it serviced. Check out if you have any dealers out here in the US for Ultra grinders to service it? But you know what they will charge you like hell for servicing and shipping it. I would personally go in for a new grinder than servicing this one if it needs to be.
Otherwise, wait for a next trip to India to get it serviced there.
Good Luck with your grinder.
Malathy

Hi, Need help, I recently purchased Ultra Pride(1.25 L). I soak and grind Ulud Dhal and Rice separately for enough amount of time.Still Its not yielding me a very fine and even batter. Some of the rice grains/uludh dhal are not getting grinded at all. Need a quick reply.
I soak 4 cup of rice to 1 cup uludh dal . Is that fine for 1.25 L grinder ?

hi,
for the wet grinder problem, one of my friend had an issue with the belt. she fixed it with a indian mechanic in a indian shop for 25$ and it works fine now. if u r around any indian shops then go and enquire them they might help u.
also it is better to give rest to the motor for 1/2 an hr for the rice after grinding the urad dhal.
