Supermarket shopping in Britain, it's getting more Complicated Supermarket shopping isn't just getting more expensive, in Britain it's getting more complicated.
Not only can you spend your time in the aisles reading nutritional information, you can now see how much damage your weekly shopping is doing to the planet.
UK supermarket giant Tesco has begun trialling the labels, which give products a carbon footprint rating.
The chain has put labels on 20 of its own range products in four categories - orange juice, laundry detergent, potatoes and low energy lightbulbs.
The new system measures the carbon emitted during every stage of the product's life.
The labels have been designed by the Independent Carbon Trust, who wants them adopted industry wide.
Source : SKY news I would like to hear more comments and information from ILites on how the shopping is getting more environmental conscious. I also appreciate suggestions to create awareness and tips on how shoppers need to be aware to be responsible in saving our environment from deteriorating in this thread
