| Hi honeyj, The tender mango (vadu mango) from Mother's Recipe is good. Also, Udipi has introduced a wide range of pickles with and without Garlic! The tender mango, Avakai and Mango thokku ( all Without Garlic) are all AWESOME! Extremely tasty and clean, fresh taste! Try it ladies, if they are available in your indian grocery stores! Cheers Krithika (Jithiks) |

You should definitley look out for pickles recipes posted in Ask Chitvish and Krishnaamma's Kitchen sub-forums within Indian Recipes forum. You will find real easy and tasty recipes for sure. As for buying readymade pickles in Indian stores, we have recently tried out Mother's recipe - Ginger pickle, Garlic pickle and Cut Mango pickle. All were good. BTW, please post your queries in the relevant forums. All our forums are categorised to cover various topics and 'misc' forum is really for those topics that we haven't categorised into forums. We moved this thread of yours from 'Misc' to 'Shopper's stop', where this forum is basically where to shop for things needed for your home. By posting in relevant forums you will get the attention of ladies interested in that topic of discussion and you will also be making the information shared to be available in the right place. Dear all, Appreciate so many of you responding to Honeyj's queries. It will be really great if some long time members here can always direct those relatively new members to post their queries in the right forums. That way IL's treasures (your posts) are all in the right place and is not missed :)

| HI Honeyj, As Malathy said it is not too hard to prepare pickles. You can try in small quantities. Please go through my thread Traditional Pickles in Easy way and go through Chitvish threads also. try to make 2 lemon or 1 mango first then do more quantities. Generally if you prepare of your own that is more and more tasty than the ready made one. Try. I wish you success. |
