Question pvg excel grinder from US---is it worth buying?

Hi,
I 'm thinking to buy PVG Excel wetgrinder from US.

Has anybody bought here and what are your experiences with it?

Is it worth buying?

When I enquired i was told the price is $149 shipping included for a 2 litre grinder.

Please share your thoughts.

Hello

Though I am not aware of the PVG wetgrinder in US, let me tell you a few things about the mixie/grinders which can be used in US. Now in India, you can get 110 volts mixie/grinders which are for exclusive use in US and Canada. Most of the major brands have this category. We brought Prestige mixie from our place when we came to US. We paid around Rs.3200 or so and it is running excellently without any problem.

I have heard many friends saying that the mixers available in Walmart etc.. are not fit for our foods and they are good only for juice etc. I am not sure though. I think you can buy online also from Indian companies.

Veena.

Hi sssaustin,

I agree with Naveena, you can get very good 110 volts mixies/grinders from India and they serve a good purpose for processing our Indian foods here.

I got Preethi chefro mixie with 110 volts motor 3 years back and it is running fine. I use it almost everyday to blend something or the other - Naan guarantee .

Similarly, I got Premier table top grinder fitted with 110 volts motor 2 years back and that too is fine. I use it almost every week to grind dosa / idli batter.

I wouldn't recommend mixies/food processors here, if you are buying them to blend our chutneys, spices and batter. They are good only for juices and shakes.

I wouldn't recommend buying Indian mixers/grinders online too for they are almost double / triple the cost than buying from India. It is worth the wait till your next trip to India.

Malathy

Thank you all for you FB.

During my recent trip I brought Preethi Chefro Plus mixie from India and so could not carry a wet grinder.

When I looked to buy for a wetgrinder here I came across a dealer for PVG in New Jersey and he gave me a quote for 149$ shipping included for a 2ltr grinder.

While I was shopping around in India I came to know that 110V are always expensive than the 220V.And now the dollar value being low I thought I wouldnt lose much if I bought it here in US.

In India the the Ultra Wet Grinder 110V cost around 7000Rs(I enquired one of the biggest stores in T.nagar Chennai)

What do you guys think?

If any body has bad experences with PVG pls let me know.

HI
I have heard PVG grinder is cheep and good. I have Opal wet Grider from india which is 1.75 L and very less weight to carry here. Also you can get it for 110V. Price is not also bad I have paid 5500 for that. I have been using it for 5 years and works well.

Birraj
