Re: Difference in Umbrella Cut and Anarkali Pattern
hi vani can u tell me how to increase the width of the umbrella part,i mean like the white one madhuri is wearing, with lot of frills,i have seen in movies sometimes a umbrella skirt or anarkali type, where the heroine stretches out her hands holding the two tips of the dress at the bottom it will stretch and still have a lot of frills, i like it very much but never was able to do it

Re: Difference in Umbrella Cut and Anarkali Pattern
If you increase the length of the skirt the flare increases. In real umbrella cut skirt there will be no stitches radiating from the waist line.If you want to add more flare you have to add godets ( Kali )in between. It will be flared skirt.I feel that the dress that Madhuri is wearing has two layers. There are no stitches in the skirt part..What do you think?

Re: Difference in Umbrella Cut and Anarkali Pattern
If you increase the length ,(here the radius line )the circumference increases.automatically the flare increases. In umbrella frock there will be no bulk in the waist. Please post the image of the dress that you want to stitch.
