    Hi Shilu,

I personally always opt for 2*1 or 2*2 material for lining blouses. The reason being, they are more skin friendly, absorb sweat and the blouse will last longer and more comfortable. Some even go for lizy bizy. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks Sunitha for the nice suggestion. i will go with the 2*1 material.initially my concern was that of comfort, shape and the blouse not to look transparent. i hope this material is good enough for the concerns i have.

    Thanks

    Hi Shilu,

Try once and you will see that it is not a bad choice. For a very expensive material, you can use 2*2. Otherwise 2*1 is good enough. All your concerns will surely be gone.

    Hi,

I have been using buttercrepe as lining for salwar kameez and blouses for years...I find it very skin friendly and comfortable. You may try that too.

    Thanks

Thanks Sunita and Swati. i will either go for 2*2 or crepe depending on the exact matching material.

Can You Please tell me what is the exact name given for 2*2 in USA. And is 1 yard enough for using as a lining for a saree blouse?

    Thanks.

    hi new,

in USA, u have to look for the material type. Go for a 100% cotton . Try in Joann or walmart. I have seen such materials though i feel that they are slightly thicker than our regular 2/2 or 2/1.

1 yard = .9 metres. = 90 cms. For blouse, we normally need atleast 80 cms. So, u can get 1 yard itself. In USA, u get a wiser width of 42-44". So, if u are smart u can make a paper draft and determine the actual yardage required . It could even be 3/4 th of a yard.
