I have this book, bought it years ago in Bangalore. It is basically a pattern drafting book, not a book to teach you how to sew. Also, the pattern designs for the cholis are quite good but nearly everything else, including kameez designs, are quite old fashioned ( like forty years!). If you are a beginner, you are probably better off buying some commercial patterns from companies like Simplicity, McCall's, Burda etc which give very clear step by step instructions. These can be purchased quite inexpensively online and a relative could bring them over. Once you have mastered a few, then the Zarapkar book is worthwhile.
