Sewing/Tailoring/Stitching : Pattu Pavadai or Pattu Langa

    Hi All,
I am not sure whether this thread belongs to this forum or not. But finally I endedup here and found its suitable.

I have very good pattupavadai around 4 which are very good condition and hardly used for couple of times all. I believe some of you all might have this question.
What all you did with those pavadais... As I dont have any younger sister or cousin to wear this and those are very coastly things, I dont like to throw them out. At the same time , I can't wear them as is Im married and having a kid.

Please suggest me what to do with those ? suggestions are welcome for recycling.

re: Sewing/Tailoring/Stitching : Recycling Pattu pavadai - Need suggestion

    Hi Priya,

You can make them into nice kurti's to wear on Jeans or make kurti and buy separate shalwar's.. cut the border seperately and add to collar type neck or a big nice patch at the back of neck ans for sleevess. As you are working this will be very comfortable for you.

If you have baby girl then stitch her skirts or pattu langas. You can later do kundan work on them to look more attractive.

Even for boys you can stitch them kurta pyjama with good model's.

For buy half pattu or creep material of same color of pattu pavadai and make them into anarkali suits by using them to upper part of dress and borders to down umbrella cutting or normal salwars suits.

And mainly go to an fassion designer cum tailor he can give you more ideas on using them!

    hi priya,

In hyd some of the boutiques are doing wonderful transfer method .

They use the material from old sarees or outdated sarees to another saree or salwar and totally transform it into a new one.

They either do a patch work or some other border work as u like.

If u have a baby girl keep it for her.
