    the brown one is angarka type kurthi ie the overlap kind.the draft is explained beautifully in vani's sewing blog by art vani.

    Hi again.

    sorry back onto the patiala subject.

    In sahelis draft of the patiala, the bottom half pieces have a vertical grain line and the belt has a horizontal grain line.

    My question is..........
    will it affect the patiala if the grain lines are different because my material is less than it should be and i need to do 1 leg grain line horizontal and the other leg grain line vertical.

    Hello Amsu

    Left hand side is salwar top with overlapping front. There will be no change in the draft of the back.Take the draft of simple kameez. Place it on an other sheet of paper.Let there be extra paper to extend the mid line of the kameez.front Do the necessary changes as shown in the figure.extension depends upon your taste.Red line will be the new cutting line.Somebody had already posted the draft of simple kameez.If you cannot search search " simple kameez" you will get it

    The shoulder knot is similar to above on the back of the khameez, but at the top edge.
