Ladies - I have seen many wear fitting tight full sleeve kameez which has some gatherings near the wrist. How should i cut for making that? Should i just cut full sleeve draft onto cloth in bias? -Chandra
Hi @chandrakiran, I have changed the title of your thread so that IL members who know the method might come forward and clear your doubt. Thanks. Regards. chitra
The gatherings at the wrists are called 'chuddis' in the north. From what little I know...it is the usual long sleeve.....but longer ,to make the gatherings. The sleeves taper towards the end. The tighter ending gives better gathering. In this case....a cut is given and hooks added as it makes it easier to put the hand though the tight opening.......
thanks @yellowmango but should i cut with cloth in bias, just as we do for the chudi bottom leg part?
Op...I have a silk blouse with transparent net sleeves(it's packed with winter clothing or I would have posted a pic). It s not cut in bias.....just a longer and tighter at the end sleeve. But let some one with more stitching experience post like @sumanrathi .....
