    Hi All!

I would like to stitch Drawstring Bags with lining out of my old Saree to use as 'Thamboolam Bags' for a family function.

The videos I have seen in Youtube shows only stitching with two single cloth materials.

Has anybody has any idea how to stitch with lining? If anybody has stitched it already, can you please post the procedure?

    Thanks,

    is easy,
*cut 1 piece of main fabric and 1 piece of linning (rectangles)
*sew them together by the 2 sides and the bottom. Facing right sides of fabrics (leave top side open).
    *turn it out
*stitch the bag as usual, as if u r working with 1 piece of fabric
    * make the bottom hem for the drawstring.

tell me if you have any doubt i can make a diagram for u :)

Yes. Exactly the same model. I want the finished size should be 10 x 10.

    Thanks for the efforts.

Thank you. I have tried this. When I stitch like this, the bottom part slight goes in because of side stitching. The top part (where we put the thread), comes out little and it looks odd. then I had to cut the top part a little bit on both sides.

    How to avoid this?

Hey. No need to sew the bottom

single piece is folded on length wise so both side only to be stitched, bottom will be as folded side top will be as open end, here we have to fold the top and leave a gap for Thick thread just like as chuti pant top portion how we sew the same method.

I sent you the link through your PM pl. have a look and ask if you need any help
    good luck
pl. post the image once you finished.

Do you know how to fix the thread easy for drawstring ?
