hi il's i have a anarkali kurta which is very plain and i want to stitch a border in that. i just want to know that the border attached to the anarkali kurta is a straight piece of cloth or it will be curvy. and how to attach it? for example i attached some pics of anarkali's. which i found from net. thanx and regards eshee
Dear, The pieces should cut digonaly. And at first attach the digonal pieces together to get a long strip. Then attach with the bodypart. The attachment can be done in different ways,Eigther u can fold the strip into two and attach directly to the bottom, this needs a wider width of fabric,or first attach with the bottom and fold it upward and do the top stitch. Please consider the total length of your garments in two ways, the length will vary.. I think its clear..
Hi! Thanks for your reply. I also had the same doubt about cutting the material for border. Can you please explain 'how to cut it diagonally'. I don't understand this. If you can draw and upload, it will be very useful. Thanks.
Here by attaching the drawings for your reference. 1. Draw lines digonally with equal distance. 2. Cut the pieces. 3. combine the pieces as shown. 4. attach the pieces. 5. cut the extra fabric 6. Open and crease the pieces. continue the process still you reach required length.
Hi! Thank you so much for the effort! So sweet of you. My material already has a printed border. How to work with it?
Hi Sincy your explanation is very good.Bias strips should not be joined as you have shown. It should be joined like this. http://www.indusladies.com/forums/s...g/142486-method-of-preparing-bias-strips.html If you cut the edges and join the strip does not stretch well.Zoom the first image that eshee has posted and see you will fine how the strips are attached. Please do not mistake me for correcting you
