Sabari,

Check the link: Good Schools in Chrompet - IndusLadies. In this there is a post by MeenaViswanathan whose kid is studying there. You can try to post your queries to her as she will be in a better position to answer.

I got the following information from one more thread:

Sundaravalli school has a montessori system, but would have around 30 kids in a class(which i think is too many for what we pay(10,000 caution deposit +30000 total fees). But have heard a lot about that school

Also check Schools in chennai link where many schools have been discussed.

hi sabari

I attended the meeting .Montessori method will be adopted till 2nd std after that C.B.S.E .They provide Veg (prepared by themselves)lunch till +2. For montessori they even provide mini breakfast and mineral water . I am not sure whether breakfast is provided for higher classes. But i heard from a friend for higher classes also both breakfast and lunch are provided. This school is run by a trust and they r not commercialising its activities so there is no much publicity about this school. But best school in the locality and everyone aware about the school in the areas of crompet,pallavaram,pammal,tambaram.. From third std student have to take up anyone extracurricular activity from dance,singing,veena,keyboard,karate,miridangam..et c. Yoga is taught. They have a good swimming pool. All students r taught swimming from Montissori2(like LKG) .They r giving much importance to hindu culture and tradition(Keeping kumkum,Bhajans) but not forcing anything to other religion people.Personally i felt very good about the school not creating a hype but doing something good .Very big clean Dining Hall ( roughly 1000 can eat at a time i think). The results were also good it seems. They r very strict it seems when it comes to discipline and they require full cooperation from parents regarding this. From third std kids have to wear school uniform . The rooms prepared for montessori teaching and for playing were looking so colourful and cute with lot of scientifically designed objects. I dont know about fees for 3rd std.For prekg(M1) it will be 40000 per annum with including transportation.Apart from this 10000 caution deposit we made. U can get more information and contact details I think for this academic year the admissions are closed.U can call them and talk.
Bye .

hi sabari
Since there was some problem in my system i was not able to give much info u asked last time. From third school uniform. Put ssmelacad in google and search u can get their website .I admitted my daughter in prekg .Fees is 40000 per annum including transport. 10000 -caution deposit also i paid. For higher classes i have no idea about fees. Till +2food is provided. Extra curricular activities, yoga, swimming are taught. They wont commercialise their activities so there will be no much publicity about them even though they r doing a good work. Very strict school and they expect good cooperation from parents. For this acadamic yr admissions would have been closed.
