Hi Shanvy,

You have mentioned that your kids are in St. Britto's academy. I am looking for UKG admission in that school for my son. He is doing LKG at Ambattur T.I school. In the next academic year, we are planning to shift to Velachery. Is St. Britto's academy the good choice?

What is the admission procedure for UKG? When I called the school office, they told they will be giving out application forms in the month of January 2008. Please let me know the fees structure also. Is it not affordable for a middle class? Please help me on this.

Regards,
Hema

Hema,

Saw your pm. was not well. have just logged in to reply to you as well other persons...

The school is issuing application forms from 17th of this month. the fees for UKG...the existing structure...is

1st term...4000rs.
2nd term 3500
3rd term 3500

This does not include transport. and also swimming...as swimming is taught only from the 1st standard.

as far as the school is concerned, i kind of feel it is ok. again opinions differ.

all the best.

Shanthi,

Thank you very much for your reply. Take care of your health. Sorry that I have troubled you.

As I told, my son is doing LKG now and it is in a playway method of teaching. not much writing. So i am bit worry about the interview as well if there will be any written test.
Can you please let me know about the admission procedure for UKG, any tests will be conducted..
Please reply me once you are alright!

Hema

Hema,

I don't know the procedure. i guess it will only be asking alphabets and numbers and also a few general questions regarding names.

why don't you call up the school and ask for more details....

Regarding madipakkam area- there are lot of matriculation schools. few cbse schools. DAV velachery - according to a close friend has lost its sheen. it is not as it used to be- it has become more of money...hope you understand what i mean. if you are not paticular about cbse then there is sai matriculation, holy angels in madipakkam/kilkattalai - on the main road. dont go to prince schools. then there is modern school in puzhuthivakkam - reasonably good one and is nearer to madipakkam. then there is chellammal school a cbse one -nanganallur-hindu colony. dav adambakkam is one more. You will not believe the number of schools that have cropped in this area. regarding dav velachery the application forms are given in january i think. and yes your son can get into lkg.

hope this clarifies any doubts.

love.
shanthi.

(P.S. I have moved back from muscat. and my kids go to britto's academy in velachery. choices had narrowed for us as my daughter has taken second language french(into 7th and 4th standards.).school is ok. the books load is very light. the kids have adjusted. the fees is little high. I stay in ullagaram.)

Hi Shanthi

We too have moved back from Muscat. We were in Alkhuwair. Now looking for a CBSE school for my 3 year old daughter.
