Default Schools close to Velachery

Hi All,
I am relocating from Shanghai to Chennai next month & as with everybody am concerned about good schools for our children. I have two boys : 6 & half & 4 respectively. Since I have been away from Chennai for long, I am clueless about which schools are good & which ones aren't.

* My house is in velachery. So schools close by -even till Adayar/Guindy is ok.
* I am looking for a school which emphasises extra curricular activities too & not just academics.
* I am looking at CBSE system.

Both hubby & I have the following schools in mind. Can u pls send ur feedback on this:

* Arsha Vidya Mandir
* The School- KFI(ICSE)
* Chettinad Vidyashram
* Vidya Mandir (Adyar)

Thanks
Priya

Hi Priya,

Aren't all those schools basically academics only?

Beverly

PS I heard they are good though. My kids 4 & 3 go to Billabong

Hi Dear,
SOrry for late reply.

I must say at first we didin't like Billabong first impression...twice...hehe, but we like it alot now.

Both my kids, 3 and 5 are happy and learning. I am basicaly a PIO so can't compare syllabi. Tutors are great. Good student to teacher ratio.
My kids missed half a term due to weather related illnesses and the extra teacher helped catch up whiel in class. That is great feat from my perspective.

Fees I understand are comparatively reasonable. GOes up in June. Nursery will be 17000 first term then about 5 less the other terms.
And, they don't generally ask for extra stuff for classes/projects.

[Hope I helped.

Beverly

hi priyasesh,
am also relocating to India from sydney next month and I reside in pallavaram.
since u mentioned velachery, how about navadisha montessori school?. you can also try PSBB millenium school. I have a nephew in chettinad vidyashram(US return) and my sister is not happy with chettinad. KFI is good but I heard its hard to get admission. Heard Arsha Vidya mandir and vidya mandir are very good. You can also try DAV velachery.
