Admission Procedures

Hi I am a mom of 2 kids and am shifting to chennai in April. Looking for admission in LKG and Class 2

I have been doing some research on the schools and i thought Sishya, Abacus are good icse schools however most schools ahve already closed admissions.

Can anyone help me so as to how to get throught this problem? dont they have some system for accomodating transfer cases? if so what can i do?

i am very interested in these 2 mentioned schools pls advice how best i can approach the schools for admission

Welcome to Il.

regarding transfer quota, it is available only in Govt. run schools and for Govt. employees.

Regarding the two schools, why don't you call them and present your case. and find out if they are amicable and will call you for a meeting.

sishya, usually replies it will discuss it with the board of directors...

both the schools are fine. abacus is montesorri.

Actually i have been trying to contact both the schools have not got any response from them looks like they have closed admission and refuse to entertain queries. In the meantime i have been going thru all the info in this forum and tryin about other options however looks like i m late most schools have closed admissions so now im at a loss abt how to proceed.

i am basically looking for an ICSE school in and around south Chennai for my son at class 2. Most schools say they have completed procedures and are closed so anyone has any ideas how to get thru this deadlock and get my child into a good school

all help/suggestions required

That is one basic draw back i see in most schools. they don't entertain after admissions...

There are very few icse schools in chennai. and i think Sishya is the only one in this area.

you have options only if u think of cbse schools.

you could go in person and discuss with the management.

Does anyone have any personal experience of the YGP school? Is it good or is it cashing in on the PSSB name?

What method of teaching are they following montessorie or otherwise?
between Vael billabong and YGP what would be a better for LKG level?

Between the two my preference rating will be for Vaels billabong.

ygp is run by the Granddaughter of ygp. she is cashing on the name..but some say the school is good.

My daughter is completing 2 this feb 28. I wanted to know at what age i should join her in pre kg. Do anybody knows abt the DAV mugappair admission procedures for pre kg? and i wanted to know if any conditions and the age limit for kids to join the DAV mugappair.
Can you please pour your suggestions ladies?

DAV Mogappair has classes from LKG only.. no pre kg there... The age criteria for LKG admission is 3 years completed as on Dec 1st of the year preceeding admission.. that is if u want to join ur kid in June 2008, kid should have completed 3 years by Dec 1, 2007... They want the child to be from the nearby areas, within 3 kms from the school... I don't know on what other criteria they select children, i had applied there for my daughter this year...

Thank you so much for your reply. I thought of trying for my kid there. But her DOB is coming only on 28 feb. So i think we have to wait one more year for admission.

Hi ladies !!

I would like to know the age requirement for Pre KG in chennai. My Son is completing 2 this Jun 30. I wanted to know at what age i should join him in Pre Kg. Also when does the admission start ? I am in Adyar.
