Hello everyone, What do you all think, the right age to put a child to school.... There are many in Chennai, who put children to school at the age of 2 and a half years...that too to LKG.... Personally, I feel the right age to enroll a child to LKG is 4 years... In some states like Kerala, many schools admit children to LKG only if they are 4 years... Would like to know what all of you think about it ? :2thumbsup:Cheers Manju
Putting your child in regular school at the age of 2 1/2 is a bad idea. You can put her in play school so that she will get adjusted to a school atmosphere once you send her to a regular school. Depends upon your wish you can send your kid to school either at the age of 3 or 4.
Manju, You are absolutely right 4 is the correct age for lkg. and right now cbse is slowly emphasizing on the 4 yrs. there are lot of schools in chennai which are strict about this. Personally i feel 4 is good. and my children both my daughter and son started at 4. this has given then more understanding of school. i dont need to sit with them every evening to make them do their homework. I only help them if they require. I believe in allowing my children enjoying their childhood.Again it is more of each ones wish and perspective.:2thumbsup:
I read this in a food blog which showed me this info (dated 8 Nov '09) on the 'THE HINDU ' link : http://www.hinduonnet.com/thehindu/op/2009/11/08/index.htm Dr.APJ .Abdul Kalam gave a reply to this article on 12 Nov 'o9 The Hindu : Opinion / Op-Ed : Need for creativity in classroom His reply was the children should go to primary school at the age of 6. I see many people worrying that their child will join 1st standard at the age of 6 / 6 1/2 . But a child's enjoyment in studies comes naturally only when they start at around 6 till which time they can enjoy their childhood .. ----- Lalitha
