What do the kids learn in LKG,UKG and 1st standard in schools

    My understanding is that any Montessori school is private...I am not sure though..maybe someone else can comment on that.But most montessori schools have only till KG,that is what I have seen.

    hello everybody,

    I have newly joined in this forum. I am staying in US and my 3.5yrs daughter is going to pre-school here.

    I heard they have made lot of changes in the education pattern.Can you please tell what to do they teach in LKG, UKG and 1st std in CBSE schools in chennai.

    what do kids learn in ukg(cbse)

    Hi ILites...
    I'm thinking of putting my 4yr old into an Indian school. so I generally want to know what they should know when they are in UKG. becos she wld be 5yr when she goes nxt yr, so has to be in std 1.
    I mean she knows most of the things orally but as far as writing is concerned she knows only to write ABCs in uppercase nothing else.:(
    do they hv second lang also ???
    so I wld like to know what she shd know if she has to join std 1.:confused2:

    I don't think kids will learn more than ABCs and some names of animals, vegetables, colors etc.. basic things so I dont think there will be a much problem and I really appreciate you are admitting your kid to school at 5.. its nice if you ask me.
