    Hi Friends,
We are recently shifted to Abu Dhabi from Shajah.I have 3 year(june 2009 born) old boy who has never gone to any play school or nursery here in UAE although he is quite familiar with Alphabets and Rhymes which i taught him at home.

I am really confused about whether to put him in a nursery before putting him in a regular KG 1 school or not? plus i hardly know anything in Abudhabi as we just shifted in Abudhabi at the end of September 2012. Please suggest me about the school procedure and good indian CBSE school and whether it is fine if i put him in a KG 1 directly in 2012? he dont communicate much in English.

Looking forward to a kind help from you Ladies.

    Hi Alka,
It's not necessary for a child to attend nursery before getting admission in KG1. However people choose to send their kids in nursery to help them socialise with other kids and learn new things there. If your son is not feeling bore at home and you are teaching him at home then I dont think there is any problem in not sending him to a nursery. Personally my son started nursery when he was 2 yrs old because he used to feel bore at home and we didn't have a circle of freinds here so he couldnt socialise with others. First I started sending him 3 days a week and then after a month 4 days a week.
So it's all upto you what you think is good for your child. Definitely he wouldn't loose anything by not attending a nursery.

Hi Kanchan...thanks for your kind reply.

Pls let me know in which nursery you were sending your 2 year old. I too feel good about sending my child 3 days in a week thats certainly a good idea, this way he can learn to play n spend some time outside and can learn few things outside too.
pls give me contact details of the nursery.

    regards,

    alka

Nursery would help your child's social and language skills as well as be a good introduction to school for when he joins kg1. Just a few days a week would get him used to the idea of going to school as well as be fun and educational for him.

    dear alka
    welcome to Abudhabi
the academic yr in abudhabi starts in the month of april for each class for Indian Cbse schools. and in september for American or British vcarriculam. and the age limit for kg1 is 3.3 to 4yrs.so u wont be availed of seats for 2012-13 batch. but make sure u start ur search for kg1 admission for 2013-14 batch from the month of november12.as most of the schools give out online registration and applications during these months. and seats are based on first come first serve bases for kg1.(be ready with all ur attested copies of birthcertificate, visa copies passport copies, emirates Id ( parents and kids as it is mandatory for admission, )vaccination cards.admission is registration is considered only after submittion of all these documents.

Sara nursery dont give out admission in mid of the yr. for any classes. very few nursery like Nohas ark, little flower might give admission if seat permits.if the chils is fluent in recognicing and recollecting the alphabets , numbers and pictures then there wont be much need for u to put him in nursery . just give him pencil holding and paper tearing practise. as in kg1 they start with basic of alphabets. Language part :- the teachers are trained for giving guidance for kids so dont worry about his english part, once he starts going and mingle in school he will catch up with the language.just give him regular practise with small english words which he will be using in school.

any more detail you are welcome dear
