at what age shud i send him to playschool.... please suggest

hi everyone
i m new here... my son will complete 2 yrs in sep 2011... when shud i start sending him to a play school.... whether i shud prefer any nursery with indian curriculum or an international one... and plz suggest some good playschools also... i m really very confused... plz help....

Hi Kanchan

I honestly feel you should keep him at home and teach him whatever you can.My children too were september born and I sent them to school only when they were 3 years 8 months.They were better adapatable and I too never had the guilt of sending them off too early..Those days are the most memorable and can never be got back.Unless you are working and compelled to do so dont send him..Enjoy every minute of his growth

thanx for ur reply.. as u say if i dont send him to any play school and directly send him to KG 1 in school, wud there be any prob for him, wudnt schools give preference to kids who have done nursery from somewhere....i mean isnt is mandatory to attend a nursery before going to KG1....
one more thing is that my son feels lonely here as he is the only child... i feel he needs to play with other kids...
one more ques. which school r ur kids attending?

hai kanchan,
what latha said is sentimentally right. i accept it. but in our atmosphere keeping the babies in home only is not good for their health and behaviour. bcas here they have no friend and there is very little time to go out and play. so it is not bad to send the babies to play school after they complete 2 years. most of the schools give preference to admit the babies for kg if they went to nurseries.
Its my opinion only. I am not forcing u. u think ur best and take decision

i agree with you. my son here feels very lonely at times as we too dont know much people here. he needs to socialise. thats why i was thnking of sending him to a nursery and now i have registered him in one. he will be going from november to the nursery. hope he adapts there well...
