| Hi Ladies, I would like to know what we should give to a girl at the time of puberty ? In India we have different way of handling things. As far as I remember I was given some sesame seeds, etc, etc they said that it makes the back that is the hip part strong and prepares the body and helps at the time of delivery. Though I didn't understand the link between these two. If there is anything that would really make a difference please do share. Whether we should let them take rest during those days, etc ? Thanks Veda. |

| I agree with Vanathi. I don't remember my mother feeding me anything special, just a lot of iron rich food. I went to school , went out to play with my friends as usual, nothing was changed. If she feels up to it, let her carry on her daily activities. Raj |

| I have read that calcium is very important for girls till the age of 18 especially during puberty as it help the body to stock calcium which will be used after she attain menopause or to arrest the entry of osteo porosis. Otherwise she can be normal.
