Where to vomit- Sink or Toilet

Hi All,

Until now I trained my soon 4ys & 2 yrs old to throw up in in plastic cover lined container that I keep in a place in restroom and corner of bedside. Sometime they will throw up in sink.
Even I throw up in sink (at my own home) as I learnt in India, so does DH.It clogs but I clean it thoroughly. Never had to throw up when I was outside of house. Hence my doubt.

Living in USA for past few years, by seeing movies and scenes where one rushes to toilet bowl to throw makes me wonder if people do it in real life.

I want to teach my kids proper 'vomiting' etiquette. So please help.
Do you teach your kids to throw up in toilet bowl, in school how to they manage to get to toilet ? I am sure its gross full germ ridden, how can they put their head inside and barf ?
also if you are out in public places, do you reach out to toilet bowl in public restroom?

Toilet is easier....
Just grab some tissues and lay over the seat.You don't have to put your head in the pot.....you can lean over the pot and just vomit into the pot.

If vomiting is expected(like if the child is not well)...you could give the child a vomit bag and teach to use in an emergency.

Just out of curiosity...Why are you all vomiting so much?
(you need not answer...but get it checked)

Toilet is the best, no hassle clean up. y DD is trained to do it there. She is 4 yrs old. I never had any incident in school but I am sure she will go the toilet and throw up as she does at home.

So they need to kneel down on floor or touch the toilet seat/bowl ?

Sorry- I have not done myself in toilet, so no idea.

You can always have a stool beside the toilet and they can sit and do it too. Kneel down is fine.

3 year old won't need to kneel down(even we don't)....just bend over so that the head is over the pot and vomit.

Most scenes they show on tv or movies are of drunk people throwing up....so they are all over the floor.

My kids usually did it in the bed ...:drowning. When a child gets sick (stomach bug) it comes very fast and the child (especially smaller children) are not able to recognize what is happening. And then you spend the rest of your night changing sheets, blankets and when you have four kids you have quite much to do .

But if I could choose the toilet bowl should be the place. If you do it in the sink you will have a lot of nasty cleaning to do.
