email account for kids

My son has an e-mail ID that was given to him from his school. This is how he logs onto the school sites and accesses his homework.

On the home front, he got one when he got an iPad for his birthday. The e-mails are monitored by us and we know who is in his contact list (DH, myself, my sister, and his best friend)

He is not allowed into any social networking sites.

My son will soon be 12.

It did scare me to get him his own ID etc, but my husband monitors it well.

Does your child have an email address? Yes, I created one for her when she was in UKG to learn the email etiquette and I monitor it very closely. The contact list is regulated by me. She also has one from school which is quiet well monitored for school projects

How do you keep a tab on it: password is created by me and she knows that she should not share it with anyone

My DD is 10 and had email account.We all know her password and we also get her emails to my account through some settings.I think the real movie only starts when they are teenagers.

 

my kids had a email account from their 13th year, but without their real names disclosed. it is only initials or their aspiring goal as their id. all official communication from school comes to our main account. dd joined fb only at 17 when she came to know of pictures shared by her classmates.

i have had the talk on the cyber crime and more. anything important or disturbing is always discussed with me. they don't hide anything. they are open..
