Default Nice free online math service to share

I am referred to beestar for math worksheet. My son loves it, so do I. The math is free all year long, the questions are problem-solving type, good to help kids thinking.

I saw a lot of our indian kids on Beestar's Honor Roll list, seems a much popular site. I dropped Kumon math and focus on this free online service.

Most of all, my kid asked more things to do from Beestar site. I look for suggestions here since you may already be using it for a long time. I amthinking to let my son take English (ELA) and GT math from beestar($20-$30 for semester, really nothing compared to Kumon). My quesion is if I register for beestar ELA, should I go ahead drop Kumon entirely? I am getting a bit tired of paying and driving for kumon, and recently kids lose interest since the formats are kind of boring.

I appreciate if you have any suggestion about beestar and kumon.

BTW, I am new to this forum, I am excited to find it and be part of it!!

Hi Meena,

This is Jithiks(Krithika) once again. You had started thread abt kumon vs beestar...right? Anyway, i checked out this site and looks like it is free only for the first week and then we need to register.

Have you already started your son in this? How different is this from Kumon?
I will also try to post the experience I had with Kumon here also.
Thanks

I was trying to pose the other thread to here since you told me that was not a best place for the topic. I somehow had to change the topic when adding it to here.

To answer your question, the site beestar gives math free all year long for all students of g1-6, hard to believe, isn't it. I was very excited. We will stay with it to grade 6. However I will have to pay for reading, GT etc. Let me know what do you think about the programs.

BTW this programs were created by one local city 50 miles from us, so we found some known friends listed on the site, so it's very funny :) My son loves it, for him this is like a math competition game.

Anyway. have to go now.

Hi Meena:

Beestar is a useful website. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I haven't yet registered my children but my son tried a few tests and he liked it.

Haven't sent my children to Kumon, so wouldn't know the difference between Kumon and Beestar.

Hi Meena,

Good to hear about Beestar. I had no idea that such a website existed. I checked it out cursorily so can't say what the difference between this and Kumon is.

I will ask my friends who have older kids to see if they have used this site.

As for Kumon, my son who will be 6 in Aug has been going there for both Math and Reading since last year (just before he turned 5). He has benefitted a lot on both subjects. He has been going there for less than a year now so it could be that the course work gets monotonous as they progress. I don't know. So far I am liking it a lot.

But I will try the Beestar site myself and also ask around to see if anyone has tried it before and will post here if I get useful information.

Thanks for bringing this out here!

I don't know about it. Do you know by any chance where they take the chinese math, or is it online-based? Is it free?

I love beestar free math. I also like to dig about this chinese math. let me know if you have any more information about it?
