When the great translator, I am sorry, transcreator herself has acknowledged my efforts, I can justifiably lift my collar in pride. You were the first person who made me feel that translation can by itself a respectable, dignified and above all a creative job. But when I came to know of this great truth, it was already too late. For I know only two languages, Tamil and English. I now wish I had known a few more languages. I have corrected the translation as per your suggestion. To admit the fact this was not in the original work. I took enormous freedom in translation which a person who knows both the languages would vouch. The beauty is the original author's and the mistake is mine, which I have since corrected. May your poetical Pongal wishes become splendidly true, regards, sridhar PS: Take your time to visit the ageing thread. Of course the thread will wait for you and am sure, will not have aged much in the meanwhile.

Dear Vidya, I heard a writer friend say once, "when somebody gifts you something, accepting it with grace is the best return gift you can make to the donor. " That way your appreciation of my efforts in posting the poem and praising the translation constitutes a very precious return gift, which I will cherish for ever. Thanks a lot for your good wishes. Your words about Ambika's appreciation is quite true for every inch of Ambika is a poet. regards, sridhar

Most Gracious Ladies, Hope you are busy (are going to be busy, depending on your time zone) with the Kaanum Pongal. I posted this poem to keep you refreshed and relaxed. You have less than 12 hours of rest time. And then the next post will hit you like a tycoon. It is full with life's lessons and so is quite heavy. Prepare yourselves, dear ladies, for the attack. As of now ETA is around 4 PM. Take care, Varalotti

Please forgive me ladies. I am not commenting on your listening quality. But that's the name of this Wednesdays thread. Which I posted just now. The post made me heavy, no doubt. But I am sure that the time and energy I put into it will not go waste. The only evidence for that is your response. And now you with the Wednesday Post. Happy Kaanum Pongal. regards, Varalotti

Ladies, Thanks for the wonderful response to this thread. Have you relaxed enough? Feeling refreshed? Yes, it's now time to move on to the next session, a very serious one at that. A serious warning bell, this time. The Monster of Jealousy. I apologise upfront for spoiling your week-end moods. But its time for introspection. Welcome to the real world, where jealousy rules. Varalotti
